About me

About me

Hello, and welcome. I’m Amanda, a qualified person-centred counsellor. I hold a degree in Psychology and a degree in Person-Centred Counselling, both from the University of Aberdeen, and I’ve been working in the counselling field since 2009.

I offer face-to-face sessions from my home office just outside Alford, Aberdeenshire. On Tuesdays, I work from a counselling room in Aberdeen between 9am and 5pm. For those further afield or who prefer remote support, I also provide counselling via telephone or online, working with clients across the UK. This flexible approach means you can access support from wherever you feel most comfortable.

I work with individuals of all ages and also offer relationship counselling. I welcome whatever issues you may be facing – whether it’s anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, or something that feels hard to name. You don’t need to have it all figured out to reach out.

At the heart of my practice is the belief that everyone has the capacity for growth, healing, and change when supported in the right environment. My core approach is person-centred, offering a warm, non-judgemental space where you can feel truly heard and explore what matters most to you. I also integrate elements from other therapeutic models, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), to suit your individual needs and preferences.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their ethical framework, ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and a commitment to professional standards in all aspects of my work.
